Financial Support for a Family in Need

Several years ago, a family moved up from regional New South Wales to Brisbane to access long-term medical treatment for their son. The hospital involved helped with school placements for the other members of the family as the parents sourced accommodation and work. This was, understandably, an incredibly stressful time for all the family and support was offered from a wide range of sources.

A school that one of the children was to attend reached out to the Paul Finnimore Trust, seeking financial assistance for the family with the set-up costs involved in starting a new school. When the application was received, and it was discovered that other children in the family were in the same position but attending another school. The Trust was able to assist all the school-aged children by covering these costs. It was a small but significant gesture that allowed the family to focus their energies on the most important issue in their lives at that time.
